2011 모차르트! 박은태 “내 운명 피하고 싶어” (by MrOpenreview)

- Next on my list is Park Eun Tae (박은태)! Listen to him score the high notes first at 3:23 then later at 4:08 (he even claps for himself. Haha.) Remarkable.

Won’t be in Mozart, but Rudolf, a new musical opening on 10 November. Will catch it with the Mom when she comes over.

That’s the best way to spend mother-daughter quality time - ogling at charming men. ;p

- Brilliant musicals. I will miss these so much when I leave South Korea.

부르신 곳에서 Living Canvas Cover Song (by LivingCanvasWorship)

We sang this at worship today. A million and one thoughts were flooding my mind - why am I here? What am I doing? Why am I doing this? Should I be doing this? What should I do next?

But as we sang, my questions were answered by the 2 simple lines of the chorus which repeated itself over and over again.

“부르신 곳에서 나는 예배하네…
어떤 상황에도 나는 예배하네.”

“From where You called me to, I will worship…
Regardless of my circumstances, I will worship.”

I only have to do one thing, for He will take care of the rest.

Man of La Mancha - The Impossible Dream : 홍광호 Korean Version (by SuperTheseus)

홍광호 in three hours’ time. Can’t wait.

Seongsan bridge along the Hangang (by Jon Asay 찰칵)
I’ve developed a new addiction - running along the Han River.
I run till dusk, when the sun sets, all grow dim and I can’t see the ground beneath my feet.
After the 2-hour mark, my legs pump cyclically on autopilot mode, having lost all sense of fatigue.
Accompanied by the autumn wind.
Plugged into the psychedelic sounds of Nell.
All I see before me are bright orange halos emanating from the silent streetlamps and the shadows of stragglers making their way home.
It feels like flying.
On drugs.

The most motivational notebooks I’ve ever come across. The pink one reads “Study for 10 more minutes, and you can change your husband’s occupation”; the green one reads “Study for 10 more minutes, and you can change your wife’s face”. What about “Study for 1,000,000 more minutes, and you’ll realise - hey, you can’t find no husband…” :D

Granddad stuffed me with 불고기 (bulgogi), 해물 볶음 (stir-fried seafood), 잡채 (japchae) and other homemade dishes; then Grandma stuffed my backpack with tupperwared 반찬 (banchan), 김 (dried laver) and instant coffee. What a happy 추석 (chuseok). :)

Caught the Korean rendition of the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Chose to watch 오만석 (Oh Man Seok, left) over 박건형 (Park Geon Hyeong, right) after watching this performance. (Amazing how his tears just flow @00:20 in front of all the reporters.)
He didn’t disappoint.
I would have liked to watch PGH though - I bet he makes a crazily attractive drag queen. Photo of the two men below.

- Sign outside washroom, Hohhot Airport
Out of all the Engrish signs I saw in China, this is my favourite, hands down, no dispute. Because the translation isn’t even wrong. :)

My first Korean lesson since arriving in Seoul - not university lecture notes, but sermon handouts.

My room in a goshiwon, Seoul. The white diagonal block on the top right hand side is a pillar stretching from the ceiling to the floor. I have to crawl under that pillar to get to my desk, where I am seated.
Small, but cosy. :)
